What is the role of the coordinator and who can fulfil it
The role of the coordinator for postal services and their subcontractors is defined in the Royal Decree of 26 March 2024 (in French).
Who can be a coordinator?
The coordinator is required to have at least 1 year of experience in the postal sector. He must have sufficient time and resources to carry out the role properly. The coordinator can be an employee of the company or an external person.
What is the role of the coordinator?
The coordinator assumes the following main tasks:
- He informs parcel delivery workers of their rights and obligations.
- in writing and in a clear and easy-to-understand way,
- when the agreement comes into force,
- every year,
- at the request of the parcel delivery worker.
- He draws up a due diligence plan
- to identify potential risks of violations of the Parcel Delivery Act as well as the labour and social security law.
- to eliminate these risks.
- with a description of the company structure: chain of subsidiaries, subcontractors and suppliers.
How do you announce the coordinator?
You announce the name and contact details of the coordinator as part of the half-yearly reporting requirement.
In addition, the name and contact details of the coordinator must be permanently visible to your parcel delivery workers in an easily accessible location.
